The transition from Primary to Secondary school is a crucial milestone for pupils, yet opportunities for teachers to collaborate across these phases are often limited. That's why we are incredibly excited about tonight's upskilling session.

It has broken down down barriers and fostered genuine collaboration between experienced Primary and Secondary educators. All STACS Upskilling sessions are far from traditional "chalk and talk" upskilling, it isn't just theory; it's about practical strategies, shared insights, interactive sessions, and pick up and play resources for the wider teaching community that will directly benefit pupils.

STACS is working closely with Education Scotland on this, and we’re inviting you to join the first workshop, happening on 26th November 2024, 10am-3:30pm in Glasgow. We're looking for a wide range of voices to shape the future of Computing Science in Scottish education.

Are you passionate about sharing knowledge and inspiring your fellow teachers? Do you believe in the power of collaboration to enhance teaching and learning in Computing Science? We're seeking dedicated educators to bring STACS Connect events to your local area.

STACS will be hosting a virtual event to bring together teachers with an interest in this area, to share ideas and showcase what has worked in their classrooms to help inspire more females into Computing Science.

STACS is a teacher-led organisation dedicated to supporting educators in delivering Computing Science, championing their efforts, and advocating on their behalf. Most importantly, it is about working with the teacher community in Scotland.

Over three evenings, we hosted three events with five hosts, nine sessions, and thirteen speakers, including a special message to teachers this year from Pam Duncan-Glancy MSP

At STACS, we appreciate the incredible work teachers do daily to inspire pupils in Computing Science. We sent messages to all STACS members across Scotland, expressing our gratitude for their dedication and hard work.

We were honoured to attend the dot Scot 10th anniversary reception at The Scottish Parliament. It was a great evening and we were delighted we could share our story of STACS and why we choose .scot.

In the world of teaching, it's not uncommon to come across topics or areas where you could use a bit of guidance or advice. It's a natural part of the learning process, and it's one of the reasons our community of teachers is so invaluable. But here's the thing – finding the right person with the exact skills or knowledge you need can sometimes be a challenge. That's where the magic of collaboration and community truly shines.

In Scotland, Computing Science faces the largest gender gap among traditional STEM fields, and it's been a persistent challenge for far too long. Visibility of female role models in STEM subjects is so important to help encourage girls into these areas.
